TUesday

Today is Tuesday and that means the special is beef stew.We also have all our regular lunch specials. Our soup of the day is tomato bisque and our vegetable of the day is Crowder peas. Our featured Paleo is bacon wrapped chicken thighs and our featured seafood today is wild caught Alaskan salmon which can be grilled, lemon peppered, blackened or honey glazed.

Red beans and rice is a New Orleans tradition because Mondays were typically laundry day and it was something that could be put on to cook all day with little or no attention. We serve red beans and rice on Mondays to honor the city where we met and got married! Come on in for some delicious red beans and rice and your choice of 2 sides. We also have fried chicken,lemon basil roasted chicken, chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak and chuck wagon steak every day on our lunch special.

Our vegetable of the day is butter peas and our soup of the day is tomato bisque. Our Paleo item featured today is garlic ground beef and turkey and our seafood feature is Tilapia (which can be grilled, fired blackened or lemon peppered.

Today is Sunday and we are open for brunch and lunch. We have a few treats for you today that we don’t have any other day. On Sundays we have a brunch bowl, a chicken salad croissant and chicken and waffles in addition to our normal lunch fare. You can get a “regular” waffle or you can get our “special” waffle which is a jalapeno cornmeal waffle with sriracha syrup; it’s the PERFECT amount of warm and sweet! You HAVE to try it.

Today is Saturday and breakfast starts at 8 a.m. We will be serving bacon, sausage, ham, eggs, corned beef hash, grits, omelettes, waffles and more until 3 p.m. or hen we run out, whichever comes first.

Friday

It’s Friday so we have fried catfish, along with all our normal daily specials, Our soup today is vegetable beef and vegetable of the day is Cole slaw. Our featured Paleo is a grilled Tilapia. Pair it with grilled veggies and a salad or green beans for a really healthy meal. Our featured seafood is shrimp and grits.

Thursday

Thursday means you can get a big old bowl of chicken and dumplings (along with our usual daily specials) with your choice of 2 sides for $6.99. The vegetable of the day is spicy Cuban black beans and the soup is vegetable. Our Paleo feature is garlic ground beef and turkey and our seafood feature is shrimp creole.

Make sure you come by to see us this Saturday at the Douglas County Courthouse for September Saturdays. Remember that for the next couple of months we will be closing at 3 on Saturdays for the duration of college football season.

If it’s Wednesday and you’re at Burke’s that means you’re in for a treat because we have the best meat loaf in town (in addition to all our regular daily specials)! Our vegetable of the day is stewed okra and tomatoes and our soup is tomato bisque. We have several Paleo items on our menu and both Tiliapia and wild Caught Alaskan Salmon in addition to Shrimp Creole and Shrimp and grits.
